You’ll find ConTRAPtions Escape Rooms inside the Columbia Mall, conveniently located near the Mizzou campus and just off Highway 70. We’re next to Women’s Dillard’s, making us easy to spot once you’re inside.
There’s plenty of free parking at the mall, and we recommend arriving about 10 minutes early to check in and get ready before your game begins.
Think more adventure than horror. You and your team work together to solve puzzles and complete a mission inside an immersive story. Some rooms have tense moments, but we also offer fun, family-friendly options. Just pick the vibe that suits your group.
Most of our rooms are designed for 2–10 players, with 4–8 being the sweet spot. Some games (like Plight of the Margo) require at least four players.
Yes! All bookings are private, so it’ll just be you and your crew—no strangers joining your game.
Nope. Everything you need is either common knowledge or found in the room. Our team will guide you if needed—just bring curiosity and teamwork.
Most games run 60 minutes, while each part of Plight of the Margo runs 90 minutes. We also offer Immunity Quest, a fast-paced 30-minute experience.
Please arrive about 10–15 minutes early so we can check you in and get you ready to play.
We ask players to store phones and belongings in our free lockers. No drinks inside the rooms (spills and puzzles don’t mix well).
Most games are great for ages 10+, though families are welcome. Kids under 13 must play with an adult, and players under 16 must have an adult onsite.
Most areas of our venue are accessible. Some rooms work better than others depending on mobility needs, so we recommend contacting us ahead of time for guidance.
Walk-ins are welcome, but we strongly recommend booking in advance to guarantee your spot.
Just like a concert, sporting event, or movie ticket, your booking reserves a specific time slot that can’t always be filled at short notice. Because of this, our cancellation policy is as follows:
If something unexpected comes up, please contact us as soon as possible. The more notice you can give us, the more options we’re likely to have available.
All refunds, store credits, and reschedules are subject to management approval. Different policies may apply to private events, large group bookings, and specialty experiences.
